Does anyone know how they're settling in. Looks like Gomez has been on the bench a couple of times but hasn't gotten into a game yet.

Also, which of them scored the other day in the reserve match? Could've sworn it was a different name from these two.

Amadou Sanyang is not 18 yet, so he cannot dress for the senior team yet

Wasn't Ibby playing for the senior team before he was 18?

Different rules between Ibby and the Gambians, I forget the details, visa related I think.

It has to do with being transferred internationally before turning 18.

Not to be a jerk about it, but I've seen this question asked and answered at least half a dozen times. Too bad that FAQ thing never got off the ground.

If you weren't derailing a thread that has nothing to do with that question, you wouldn't have to preface the statement.

Ibby is an American who was drafted into the league, the Gambian kid wasn't drafted he came on transfer from a foreign league and doesn't have a US passport so a different set of rules apply to him.

But I did preface the statement, which means I'm derailing the thread, which means that... you disapprove of me being off-topic? I'm sorry I'm not sure what you're getting at exactly (no sarcasm). Help?

but not unheard of, esp on set plays

It's obvious: I hate utility companies and waiting around for repair reps, so I'm blaming it on you.:D

Well if he can net chances off of set plays then we should put him on the first team:scarf:

I think they're happy to be here, given this story in yesterday's NYTimes

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/21/world/africa/21gambia.html?_r=1&scp=2&sq=gambia&st=cse

(no utility woes here, just good ol' derailing for the hell of it!)

^^^ yikes. Imagine growing up with that and then ending up in Toronto and asked to visit schools.
