What a great game that was two years ago. That place was rocking when the legend scored our first goal. I'm glad it was him and not like Andy Welsh or someone who's not on the team anymore.

Oh It's also MY BIRTHDAY....the first goal was scored on my birthday I can never forget that, Danny Dichio scored on my birthday what a gift.:drum:

It would be pretty cool to know exactly what time he scored (not during the game, but time of day)

"It was the gorgeous 12th of may
Chicago fire we did play
4 games into our history, we had'nt scored a single goal
but that was all about to change
as DICHIO took to the stage
a ball from Edsun Buddle
then BIG DANNY dove and scored the goal!

The boys were on their way
with TORONTO FC's Victory that day! "

What a great day - It was my best mates birthday that night. I started drinking at 11:00AM - I got home at 6:00AM... Lucky I'm in the video's or some may suggest I wasn't there!!

I held my sunglasses so hard I broke the glass ($100.00 to repair)... And hugged Cash like a schoolgirl...

I was a good time - it seems so long ago now.

Hmm...not very much love for Danny around here today !

WTF?

This may seem strange but I think that he is trilly underapreciated as a player. I think it is mostly due to his lack of pace.

that goal wasn't just "the first goal". any "first goal" will provoke a massive response from the fans.

But what I remember about that goal was the tension beforehand.. the frustration, but the hope and desire for a goal... even just 1 goal.. even just an own goal.
We had gone 4 games with no goals, and it was getting to everyone. You could feel we were all positive, wishing for just a measly goal to get that goalless streak off our backs.

So when Dichio scored it represented the relief of 4 goalless games PLUS it was the excitement of seeing the first goal of the franchise. It was like a huge explosion releasing all our tension, combined with joy.
