TFC Academy's First League Game of 2009

For those who care the season starts on May 16th at Ester Shiner Stadium against Trois-Rivieres Attak. This is an interesting game for a few reasons:
1) 9 of these kids were teammates at the recent U-17 championship and its always interesting to see international teammates against each other for their clubs.
2) This is (if the MLS changes rules on academies) a possible exhibition of a future chapter of this great canadian rivalry, as its academy versus academy/reserve team.
3) Its TFC related!

^ Seriously. Why don't they schedule a couple academy games at BMO before the MLS games? I'm sure they'd get some fans out to the games that way.

Oh yeah we have a 1st team match seems to me we had one of those two days ago, well I'm not used to being so spoiled I guess:D:scarf:
I agree they do have terrible timing for some games, but I hope that for the games that aren't terribly timed we can get those rogers game of the weeks

Good News the game's being televised on sunday at 5! I had hoped they'd do this as its probably the biggest game of the season.

it was better with the reserve team but it wasnt advertised very well.


prolly cause they would have to still have all the staff for double the time

That is probably the future plans for the youth development program as I don't believe the TFC Centre of Excellence is a reality yet either. But Anselmi did promise a U-14 team this season which could exist for all I know and just not be publicized

they announced something along some of these lines a few weeks ago.
it's on the TFC site somewhere.

the kiddies now have programs as well. It's not that they are locked into the academy... more like a summer program at diff ages.. i guess if they show promise they will be placed into the full academy when they get old enough.
