CBCSports.ca invites soccer fans to join Nigel Reed, Jason de Vos and John F. Molinaro for CBC Sports Soccer Plus+, a live and interactive online soccer show, on Friday May 1 at 3 p.m. ET.

This week, CBC Sports Soccer Plus+ expands from 30 minutes to one hour and will feature all the latest news on John Carver's resignation (http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/story/2009/04/25/sp-john-carver.html) and the coaching situation with Toronto FC, reaction to De Vos's latest blog on fixing Canadian soccer (http://www.cbc.ca/sports/blogs/2009/04/offside_fixing_canadian_soccer_1.html), and discussions on MLS and international soccer.

CBC's soccer experts will also interact with soccer fans and respond to questions, so email your questions early to Soccer@cbc.ca (Soccer@cbc.ca).

And just a reminder that you can also watch Toronto FC's home game against the Columbus Crew live on the main CBC network and on CBCSports.ca on Saturday, May 2 starting at 4 p.m. ET.

Oh, I think MLS officiating will come up during the show!!

To be safe, best to submit your questions and comments again. That email account gets cleaned out after every show.

Also, CBC Sports will do a sit-down interview with Carver on Thursday (to air on Saturday's game broadcast) so I'll have details on our conversation with JC Friday on CBC Sports Soccer Plus+.

make sure you ask exactly what the "personal reasons" were for his leaving... Beirne didn't want to get into it on the Footy Show podcast the other day.
Ask him point blank so there's no ambiguity.

With all due repect John, if you want us to get involved, ask the tough questions and then I'll watch your show. Please give us the goods.

I've sent in tough questions - they don't get asked. This board is loaded with opinions. How about giving a balanced view. Talk about how some sports journalists are anti soccer and the effect that has on sport in Canada. Mention how the MLS rules an regulations get under management and fan skin. Describe in detail how MLS officials are chosen, whether performance reviews occur and how MLS contributes to their professional development, if at all.

Then, maybe, I'll show more interest.

No offence intended.

We get so many questions and we only have 30 minutes, so we can't get to everything. We did speak at length about anti-soccer journalists in our last show.

we're doing an hour-long show this week and will try to get to as many questions as we can, so I encourage you to send your questions/comments.

I like where this is going. Eagerly awaiting De Vos' series of blogs... hopefully they'll have a positive effect on getting attention to the problem at hand... and I'm glad CBC is carrying it.

Yes, the plan is for Scott to host with me off camera feeding questions from the chat room and reader emails.

plus, the show will be one hour and will run every Friday for the next eight weeks.

John,

Thanks for the info, thought it was great today, the discussion with Jason and Nigel was quite insightful. I know when starting something new there is always growing pains and tweaks, the latest epsisode of Soccer+ made great strides, also really liked the change of sets, seemd to be brighter and the table seemd to be a little bit more spread out. Keep it up.

Yeah, we created a new set that's in the middle of the CBC Sports newsroom.
