Forget it - this is a guy who has openly blamed his players after the U-20s and then turned off most of the CNMT. If Jimmy, DeRo, Sutton and others wouldn't play for him on a voluntary team (CNMT), what makes anyone think they'd feel differently on a professional team?

The concept of a Canadian coaching/managing isn't a bad thing, but personally I don't think there is anyone capable today. The best way for Canadians to get better is to use a coach who has been brought up in a soccer culture, since we don't have the sheer number of players that the US has.

having no coach on the sidelines is better than having Dale Mitchell... I'd rather let the players vote on the starting 11 and tactics than let Dale Mitchell decide.

Yes...I assume this is sort sort of twisted joke. In all honesty you can't be serious. With all the talent he had at his disposal with the CMNT he could do nothing. Is less than nothing possible?

You wouldn't have to boycott long...

I would wait at the west gate after the first game he coached. The next game, your boycott would be over. :)

F*** NO!!! He was a shit coach leading the Canadian Mens National Team ... The last thing we need is a shit coach leading TFC!

DeRo hates him ... Brennan is quiet about him ... Not a chance this would be good for TFC!

We know that this board is read. I think the dudes in suits know what we think of Mitchell by now and that hiring him would be the biggest mistake the club has made. I can rest easy. In this way, this thread is great.

I think so too, no person in their right mind would ever hire this man.

P.S. Like your avatar, Obélix was always my favourite in the series.

I'm sorry, but only a certain amount of Epic Failure can be humourous. Maybe things will change in time, but right now the words "Dale Mitchell" are basically swear words on this board.

OK, here is the plan. Release Dero (excuse: Hurt, Old). Then release Serioux (excuse: hmmmm...make something up - Grabbed the ass of Alsemi's wife. That would do it). Give Jimmy B an overdose of Reactine.

Then gas the south end. Then you can hire Mitchell.

Who ever started this thread doesn't know shot about Canadian soccer.. Just think two of our best players DeRo and JB refuse to play for him on the national level.. Is this joke?

Why not get a parent coach from Oak Ridges.....

Great job Mitchell did with the U20!
Then Soccer Canada gave him the National team!

And we wonder what is wrong with football in this country...

So to answer your question.. NO.

I'm going to defend this. DM now? NO but he was thrown into coaching Canada as its leading scorer of all time. He wasn't given the opportunity to earn the title properly. He failed and should have been demoted to try to succeed at a lower level and return. Now you have a case where he'll have a long road to travel to regain anyone's trust in his skills. I hope he does get back into coaching a lower level team and find success but he shouldn't be gifted anything more.

A lacrosse team playing soccer in the MLS would do better than TFC managed by Dale Mitchell

I can't see anyone wantint him for TFC right now but I'd like to see if people think this is the end of his coaching career. To come back from what he's done would be quite the challenge.
