No matter how superstitious you are, for the love of all things sacred and holy I want us to have no part of that...thing. It exudes a bad aura AND looks like a piece of shite.

Columbus did play some really good football last night.

But giving up 2 goals in 3 mins, even if you're a man down. That is a fail and worth few lulz

I guess it goes to show you how important coaching is.

Good coach = MLS Champions

Bad/inexperienced coach = last place

here's a theory on that Supporters Shield Jinx... MLS rules and regs mean no team can turn into a year-after-year giant. So chances are good that if you win the shield you can't stay there the next year. You'll drop for sure. Also, in some cases teams might have been lucky (no injuries) or they milked allocation money (which disappears after you use it) to get to the top... when that situation changes, they fall.

I would blame Columbus' failure on losing the best coach in the league. They had no business winning the cup last year. This year they are playing more like the level of play they should've been playing last year. I never understood why they did so good, I mean, on paper, Columbus wasn't really that good last year. For some reason though, their coach got them to play a very effective game.

That jinx is such a joke did you read those?

There are maybe two incidents that could be considered jinxes hahah

The tampa bay mutiny only made it to the semi finals the next season!!!! OMG!! JINX!

And then they talk about like things that happened 3 years down the road from when they won and attribute them to the shield hahahah

But that same coach failed to make the playoffs in the two previous seasons.
Maybe it was just one of those years where everything falls into place.
For all we know, Columbass could be in last place with Sigi this year if he stayed.

BgNewf of U-Sector also posted this on their board:

Found this on BigSoccer this morning and thought it was too funny not to share. Obviously a lot of the kiddies from Columbus who wanted to come up to Toronto this weekend did not get their allowance money or their Daddy's cashed their welfare checks at the liquor store again!!!!!!!

Too bad

...Well – over 30 people committed to my bus initially, but, I only received payments for 11! As a result I was unable to sign the contracts (which would have made me personally liable for about $8k). As of now, my bus is cancelled…Of course I am very disappointed and frustrated with how things went. I spent a lot of time to get this together and I did everything I could to get the costs down....

^ hahahaha suckers.

granted, I'd rather drive than take the bus. I expect to see some people make the trip, but not many.

Funny how they come up with excuses as to why they can't fill a 20,000 SSS for the defending champs yet there were 95,722 fans in Ohio Stadium to watch Ohio State's spring scrimmage Saturday.

The Crew just need to change their colours to red and grey and call themselves the Buckeyes. That should fill the seats.

Me too. I can't see why they would need a bus anyhow, just carpool. Now if they had 1,000+ coming up I could understand that but what was their biggest T.O. travel party...50? That's a few cars and 2 church vans right there.

Dude, it gets us nothing. The CL spot that is designated for the Supporter's Shield champ goes to the runner up since it is a slot for the USA. It's a cruddy piece of jinxed metal which I would gladly trade for:
