If you watch Greg Sutton's interview on TFC tv, near the end you'll see Vitti pass by with what looks like a pretty obvious limp. Knee issues acting up again perhaps?

he had that big brace on against Columbus.

About the knee brace, he wears it all the time not because he's injured, but because he prefers it, it's more comfortable to him.

The Columbus game was the first time I had a chance to see him in action.

He's a big boy isn't he? I wasn't expecting that.

he was scratching the back of his leg while walking by, that's why he is limping....haha!!!

^ I did not think that I would like him as much as a player as I did, when I saw him play lask week. He is bigger then I thought and is physical, he was realy causing problems to the Yellow Shite on corners and free kicks.

He could be real quality, his potential is beyond MLS, hopefully he puts it all together and stays here 2 plus years.

The second half when Dichio came on you really got a taste of what he can do to defenders. Can't wait until he starts to click up front. :D

Definately bigger than Guevara who is 5'1 as per GolTV.

Dichio or Barrett for you this weekend? I hope Vitti is a given. Dichio and him would be a great tamdem.

I don't think we'll see Dichio start this season unless something goes seriously wrong... the pace we play at with Dero, Guevera, Ricketts, Wynne and Barrett is too fast, I think... I think we'll see Barrett and Vitti again, and both will be more effective with Robinson and Guevera back. Dichio is great to come on once everyone has slowed down, to shut the game down.

that and he is SO hard working... how many times did he lunge in and win away the ball =o it was really nice to see:D

Normally I'd agree, but I think Dichio can really throw off Seattle's defence. At worst, he gets replaced at half time so Barrett can run circles around the battered defence.

Barrett has no footie brain, ditto for Ricketts, I'd have em both on the bench. Dichio & Vitti to start up front

Shags

That is what I had hoped for. I also thought that Dichio is to slow for this team, despite that I like his other qualities, but comming on in Columbus realy showed me what could be.

I hope Barrett learns from watching, instead of sulking like he seemed to on Saturday, and then come in run at already tiered and battered defenders.

bhoybobby,

Barrett defently needs to learn the game to take full advanage of his ability.

what postion does OB WHITE play?(i know he is injured now)
striker or winger?

Barrett has great football sense, great movement off the ball and is always running hard, I don't know what you guys are talking about. His glaring weakness is an inability to strike the ball anywhere near the goal, and the resulting lack of confidence. If Vitti can find the net Barrett will be great for winning the ball and getting it onto Vitti's foot.

Vitti and Barrett have talked about the chemistry they have. Maybe we should see if that chemistry comes together at BMO for at least one game...

by the way, when Vitti wears that headband it always reminds me of Steven Van Zandt

Barrett runs hard, and strikes the ball hard. He moves off the ball, but not always in great position, nor does he have great vision when passing. He is not particullarly inventive, nor does he seem to anticipate play that well. He is not horrible but he clearly needs to improve. If he improves he can be a great striker.

bit of a risk to plan for definitely having to use up a sub at half time. i thoguht DD made it clear he only came back this season on the basis he thought he would be pushing for a starting berth? if so, he must have thought he had at least 60 mins per game in him, no? i'd like to see him start games this season. he's effective away from home because of his physical presence and ability to hold up the ball, and he's effective at BMO Field simply as a talisman on top of his other qualities.

saturday will be a good test ofr our boys. i hope they pass it well!

COME ON YOU MIGHTY REDS!!!

Seeing him in person? He's really small. Speedy though.

He had ice on his knee a lot down in SC, and a strange mini-brace below the knee. Even when he played in the games, he wasn't wearing the mega-brace he had on against Columbus.

But yes... that boy, when our MFs figure him out... is going to be NASTY. :)
