I was on BS and there's a rumour that Toronto are scouting Castillo.

Castillo is a winger and he plays for El Salvador national team.

Here's the BS link to rumour: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=987682

Sorry don't need another midfielder

Is he a winger that can play CB? Probably not.

We need better wingers though. Ricketts has been shit so far in this season and I don't think J.Smith is going to live up to our expectations. Castillo would be nice and cheap pick up for TFC.

We sure could use some of those we don't have any value players

Ricketts will come around....he did last year.....can't just throw away that kind of talent.

Did Castillo see that banner in Columbus? Might scare him away from TO

^ What banner.

We need to let the squad settle at least for 10 games. The only immediate need is a CB, anything else, unless an amazing opportunity comes around, can waite untill we have a better picutre of the team and how it works as a unit.

Too bad we are not going to get our CB until EPL season is over! (Assuming our CB is coming from EPL)

To someone in particular or in general?

You may be right. But I would like to see some relative stability. That does not mean that trader Mo will not sign this guy.

So you're not willing to grant that same liberty to the back line which I contend takes the longest time to come together

^ I just do not think that anyone has what is needed to be a big time CB. I think Nana may be the exception I see real potential, but we have to see if Carver shares my opinion. I would like to be wrong but so far I do not see it. [Serioux is solid, I am talking about the other spot]

Why are we so attached to Ricketts ? If he turns it around, great ! If he does or doesnt, if we can find a better player, we get rid off him. We have no loyalty to him and to put it mildly, he has been inconsistent...so scout away TFC !

^ I just hope that we are also scouting for a CB.

TFC only has 2 natural wingers. I wouldnt mind seeing one more quality winger into the mix

In some "new age" spiritual movements losing your power means to have self doubt - thereby allowing others to have power over you (critics, opposing teams, negative people, etc.). Self doubt is created out of fear and self criticism. I find it interesting that RR felt that he lost or no longer had his "power". Then later, states that he got "his power back"

I presume that this means that he has regained his confidence. Confidence heperhaps lost on Saturday - after the KKK game. Or maybe even earlier.

Again, just my interpretation.

If he's better than RR, BRING HIM IN!!!! That's how your team gets better! If Michael Ballack wanted to come to Toronto would we be saying that we already have too many central midfielders? I don't think so. If Mo has the opportunity to upgrade RR's position he had damn well better take it.

This is not a "RR is bad" post, it's a common sense post.

^I'm on board with your idea presuming we can get rid of RR salary and bring someone in for a similar figure

The way MLS works, Mo would have no trouble unloading RR or the equivalent of his salary if he was replaced in the lineup. He could trade RR for allocation + picks, or trade Jo Smith for allocation or any number of other moves. I don't think upgrading a position and staying cap-conscious (in order to sign the DC we all want) is out of the question in MLS.

RRs not going anywhere this early in the season, he will stay, if hes bad at the end fo it hes shifted but theres no way they will move him at this point

Smith has been a letdown... or has he ? not sure what I expected when he was signed. essentially he's the same player as Ricketts - a bit more speed, a bit less skill. When he was brought on to replace Ricketts in C'bus it was a disappointment - he didn't add anything - he is redundant, and if another midfielder is signed, expendable.

^ Agreed. We should be looking to upgrade RR/Smith if we can sensibly do it. You don;t get ahead by standing still. We're looking for constant improvement, although I do agree with the stability issue. That said, we've had a pretty stable squad for the pre-season so the odd change won't matter (ie, new CB and new winger), IMHO.

i say bring him in on trial if possible, if he works out great sign him. if not to it will at least push RR and smith, and let them no their not playin up to snuff.

I think you guys may be over-simplifying just a bit, I'm not sure many teams want our expensive garbage.
