Vancouver Whitecaps FC announce the signing of defender Jeff Parke. Parke has agreed to a one-year contract, pending international clearance.

"This is a great opportunity,” said Parke, “I'm excited and thankful about this next challenge that has been presented to me by the Whitecaps. It's an exciting new chapter in my life. I'm going to work hard and hopefully, the team does well and good things come out of this.”

I wonder if we looked at him at all? We are in the market for a defender. Maybe not good enough for Mo?

is this just till the end of the summer like previously reported?? either way good signing for the whitecaps. does the suppension carry over??

WAs on trial with the sounders in march and was let go.......mabey he has lost a step....?

I think Mo has our CB locked up.....just needs the European season to end? get Visa papers? etc?

That's why Parke wasn't on our radar maybe?

He wasn't let go. Seattle owns his MLS rights and he couldn't agree on a contract with them. He wants to play in Europe so he has to play in the USL unless Seattle trades his rights.

GUess that also anwsers why TFC would'nt pick him up......he wants out of MLS!

if TFC made a deal with Seattle for his rights, he'd still be suspended for 4 games.

interesting that 2 of their expansion draft picks have not played or been turned around for allocation money or draft picks (Smith and Parke).
