It looks like enough of us are following other teams in MLS.
So, let's talk about other team's performance, signings and transfers and other misc discussions

Anyone else surprised how bad Kansas City is right now? The vaunted KC defence got shredded by TFC at home and now let in 2 goals against Colorado who frankly sucks.

San Jose gets a huge win against Houston, scoring 3 to win 3-2 at home. I would have been surprised to see a 3 goal game from SJ.

I think the main topic of discussion here should be when the clockstrikes midnight for Seattle? Is it just Home field advantage? Poor opposition? I hope that Midnight comes this saturday in minute 1 when the Reds show the expansion side what's up

I'm a bit surprised to see Chivas up there with two wins after two games played. I was picking them to be one of the weaker teams in the west this year, however, so far they are proving me wrong, still early days but they have looked good so far in the two games played.

Birchall is overrated by MLS types. They're all excited he's coming but he's nothing special; reminds me of Poz but with more offensive end.

Just have a look at how many 2009 rookies are getting first team minutes.

http://web.mlsnet.com/mls/events/superdraft/2009/draft_tracker.jsp

To my calculation, about 2/3 to 3/4 of 1st rounders have been getting decent amount of first team minutes. Perhaps most interesting note is how many none first rounders are getting first team minutes.

2nd Round
AJ DeLaGarza (LA)
Baggio Husidic (CHI)
Milos Kosic (DC)
Graham Zusi (KC)

3rd Round
Darious Barnes (NE)
Nick Zimmerman (NY)

With other late rounders getting some sub minutes and occassional first team

However, 2009 draft class should be considered an exception, rather than a norm to MLS SuperDraft

DC United looks to have couple of defenders on trial, hoping to plug one of the leakiest defence in MLS

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/2009/07/united_trialists_arrive.html

*Jean-Francois Bell, a 28-year-old defender from Cameroon who has played at various levels in Switzerland.
*David Habarugira, a 20-year-old defender from Burundi's national team who came through the Anderlecht system in Belgium.

Also according to Goff, DaMarcus Beasley and Stern John may be returning to MLS. Since both are returning former MLS players, Dallas gets first dibs due to allocation list. Both are excellent players with proven record in Europe

Real Salt Lake to sign Dutch winger Rachid El Khalifi

ay hello to your first RSL transfer target of the summer -- Rachid El Khalifi.

The team won't confirm it, but sources said that the Dutch winger has agreed to a contract with RSL and will join it during the month-long transfer window that opens tomorrow. El Khalifi trained with the team during the preseason, but the economics of a deal did not work out then; that's different now, with RSL having cleared a fair bit of salary-cap space with the recent departures of striker Luis Miguel Escalada and defender Ian Joy.
