Section 117

Hi All

I was wondering does anyone know if they will have the beer people selling in the southend or do we still have to go on the concourse...

Cause that was bull shit that we had to go buy beer on the concourse but I look from my section to 119 and there was beer people selling beer.

I know there were issues with the LCBO about the over consumption of alcohol last year as that ban been lifted????

It's a non issue, as Shaugho said get your drink before and after the match. I was a wee bit put out at first but realised that it saves me money in the long run.

Although I do miss chanting "we love you beer girl we do..." and having her show up second later to pass us down our ales.

People drink at BMO still? jeez wish I had that kind of money... Seriously though if you dont drink at bmo you could save enough to go on a west coast away trip. Scary isn't it?

Agreed on the cost, but I enjoy having a drink at the game.

I wish they had the set up like did in Chicago freshly squeezed lemonade and vodka that is the ticket

the beer at bmo cost as much as ACC and other similar venues and it's frankly pretty good, better than having Blue or Coors Light on tap

If you buy 2 each home game at $13.50 a pop, that's $27.00 a game. Multiply that by 19 games (15 reg season, 1 friendly, 2 Nutrilite games and possibly the 1 concacaf CL game in our package) and that's $513. For most, that's more than their tickets cost! For me, that's a trip to Chicago!!

I was in 117 and i was absolutely annoyed by the beer selling going on. They were always blocking my view during the game and always a line of people in the aisle blocking my view so I'm soo grateful that they've done this. If you want beer, i say go down and buy it and come up, or wait till half time...i sent in many complaints about this as did others in our section. Of course realizing being in the supporters section i should have bought seats in another section but didn't have a choice, though this year i bought somewhere else.

Did they make the switch from Moosehead before the season ended? I can remember.

I wonder if the price will go up because Carlsberg is now imported.

After the first year I did the calculation of the cost of seasons in 112 versus how much money I spent on beer/food.

I weeped for a few days after seeing the math.

they appear to have lowered their tall-boy prices at the LCBO.
think when they came in they were $2.50 or $2.55.
going by memory.
for a long time until recently they were $1.95.
and without "special" sale signs attached to them.
now they're $2.25 ... not bad i guess for a 500ml.

of course, this makes the $9-something they charge at bmo feel all the more painful.

It works out to the equivalent of 5.80 per bottle including tax. Not really criminal. Where did people moan all the time before the Internet?

The Carlsberg in cans at BMO was imported, the draft foam at BMO is the same foam at the ACC, domestic Carlsberg and Canadian, which is shite.
Have a good beer, drink Tetley's at BMO, and pound back the cheaper imported beer prior and after the match.

Pretty sure that all Carlsberg is now imported. They used to brew it in Canada, but started importing it last year.

If people don't drink during the TFC games I personally think it would improve the atmosphere. Means more clapping, jumping and chanting instead of people drinking.

Pre-drink before the match and drink some more after!

to para phrase the DVD

"two beers and peanuts at bmo is 32$"

just follow the advise people are giving here.

Okay, okay... the beer at BMO is expensive and many of you don't want to drink beer at the games, but no one answered the initial question.

Is there still going to be a ban on beer in the south stand?

I'm usually too cheap to buy beer at BMO, but I do enjoy the odd Tallboy with my footy on a sunny summer day.

I agree with Jeffro ... Ocasionally, I take my dad to the game and I can't pre drink, smoke a dube etc with him around.

So I was wondering does anyone have an answer or are we just going to complain about the prices??

grimm
03-27-2009, 01:49 PM
I have heard of no such change. My opinion is that it's Saturday... it's 32 degrees, sunny for the most part... I hike my ass to the beer stand and get 1 28oz per half. Treat yourself, enjoy it! Then on Sunday, when you're broke and hungover from evil draft, sell your tv :)

^^^ I am almost certain that there will be no beer sales in the south stands.

You will need to go downstairs to the vendors to get a brewskie.

I thought about that, but I have been asked twice by police officers to empty my pockets after i just entered BMO so I am a little paronid of doing anything that would potential get my tickets revoked...

Yah and if you smoke a pack a day at $9/pack (???)

And buy your lunch every day at ($5/lunch)

And if you go to the rippers once a week for $20 lapdances

and....

You can go on and on about people's habits and what it could save them, however if someone wants a beer and they can have the opportunity to have it delivered to them in their seats so they don't have to miss the match, why is that a negative thing? Personally I can't afford the beer in the stadium as I don't see the value in paying that much, but I feel bad for the people that do enjoy it and have to now leave their seats to get it. THis is a luxury that we have in our stadium/country that many big clubs don't offer to their supporters. Its too bad the service was taken from us for those that enjoy it.
