I'm sure he'd go to Spurs over Real Madrid and AC Milan who both want him.

A curse upon Beckham and whatever team wants him.

no chance of this happening spurs already have lennon and bentley. i can only see this happening if hes gonna play in CM along with palacios, now that would be a good combination

Beckham will never play in the EPL again, he's said it before, he can't go back after playing for Manchester United.

Redknapp is just answering the question, he's not seriously interested in pursuing him as a signing, he's just saying he would, if he could, but he can't, so he won't.

He didn't say he wanted Beckham, just that Beckham was a good player and 'any team would be happy to have him', that sort of thing.

He was just waxing philosophic, like.

Actually, his whole family are Spurs fans but Becks followed United.

Yeah, but the Spurs are the team most likely to be stupid enough to overpay him enough to please the Gax. Something Milan was unprepared to do.

Hardly, Spurs have a big funding gap on the new stadium, and aren't looking to overspend on anything. They netted profit on transfers last year, but then they will lose some becuase they had to sign them back in January. Spurs #1 priority is the new White Hart Lane.

^ Nevermind. I stand corrected, no more Darren Bents for a while.

That said, it might be a very "profitable" signing for Spurs as the head to the new pitch.

I'll say -- he's been awful.

But Lennon just signed a new five year deal with Spurs so he ain't going nowhere.

Nice to have a Spurs thread again after the International Forum was closed.
