View Full Version : Key Chain Schedule already ripping?

After not even 24 hours on my key chain I don't think that this year's version will last on my keys. Its already ripping.

Didn't last year's have more of a plastic laminate on it? This one seems to bend a lot more.

Anyone else with the same problem?

I just took a look at last years and this years... the 2008 keychain does seem sturdier than the 2009.

Mine almost ripped when I put it on. The '08 one is still mint and has been on all year.

I still haven't taken my 08 off the keychain and it's in fine shape.
Too bad about this years... I kinda liked having that schedule on there last year.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I figured it was bitching time on the boards. My keychain schedule fell off my keychain. It started coming apart pretty much right away, and despite my being careful, it's already done. So Paul, what did you guys change this year? Different process? Cheaper materials? Either way, my last year's calander was mint when I took it off (at the beginning of this year) and this year's is already done for.

Any chance of your guys making new ones (more like last years) and handing them out after a game or something? I ask because last year it was incredibly convenient to know if I was busy on any given weekend by looking at my keys, and I'm sad that I can't do that anymore.

Mine fell off completely over a week ago and started to show signs of damage after only 1 day.

Mine was done early last week, peeled in half and ripped from the key chain. Not even sure about using the second one. Last year's were top notch

I have no intention of using my keychain... it's obviously a cheap material and will not last at all.

I still haven't removed last years keychain. It's in great shape.
The same goes for our STH Discount Cards. They used to be good solid material, and now... crap.

Saving costs here and there is one thing... but MLSE has delivered us useless garbage (with the exception of the scarf).

I really don't get it.... how much have they saved by doing this?
Is it really worth it? It sends a bad message when fans dedicate all this time and money to the team and we get cheap goods in return.

my keychain split in 2, the same way we used to split bus tickets...

Ouais ... Garbage quality this season. Didn't even last a week on my key chain this year. Last year's one lasted all season.

Both the key chain schedule and the club cards are a lot thinner this year. Last year's club card was solid, more like a credit card. It's a definite reduction in quality.

They have gone downhill since season one. I dread to take the card out my wallet, it's tucked in next to the white fiver.

We didn't change anything...in fact we explicitly specified the same quality as last year...and paid accordingly. So now we have a QC issue and need to get them to address it. I don't think we'll demand replacements but we'll look for cards next year to be made of carbon fibre.

Fair enough, thanks for replying. I figured you guys probably hadn't purposefully gone for a worse version, I just thought there might have been a change with the manufacturing process that brought up some unintended consequences. Either way, I'm glad you guys are at least away of it (and looking into it). It really it quite startling the difference between the two though (as everyone seems to be experiencing the same problems as I am, and no one seems to have had a problem at all last year).

It's possible the company you sub-contracted with cheapened their proccess/materials without telling you though. Jerks.

i don't need a keychain schedule. the game dates are imprinted in my brain... it's not like I'm thinking "hmmmm, when and who do we play this week... hmmmmm". :)

Even if some of us don't feel they need the key chain or whatever it is important to let MLSE know that an element of their Season Package had QA issues.

"hey dude, what are you doing the weekend of August 22nd? We're going up to Joe's cottage, you in?"

you: "I'm not sure, there might be a game that saturday... Fuck, i should have put that schedule on my keychain!"

me: "we're away that week, we can watch it on satellite... i'm in."

see? :D

Definitely NOT the same as last year. I thought it was a cost-savings initiative to help ensure we get that DP come July!:D
