Join us on Monday, April 13th as we celebrate the start of the 2009 season with an awesome night of fun and entertainment at our annual KICKOFF fundraising dinner presented by Carlsberg.

Our special guest host for the event is Canadian comedian Gerry Dee! He recently made it to the finals of Last Comic Standing, and was named Best Comic in Canada at the 2008 Canadian Comedy Awards

You can mingle with the Toronto FC squad, challenge the guys to a game of pool or foosball, engage in a photo-op with your favourite players and coaches, enjoy fabulous cuisine, and bid on exclusive items at our silent auction.

KICKOFF 2009 presented by Carlsberg will be held at The Academy of Spherical Arts, located at 38 Hanna Avenue in Liberty Village, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $150.00, with net proceeds benefitting Toronto FC’s partner charities Right to Play and KidSport Ontario. A tax receipt will be issued for every ticket purchased.

the kick off event ticket is basically the same as a south end season ticket.

Hey Paul - I was gunuinely interested but my jaw dropped when I read 150......and I own the second most expensive season seat.

This or the Columbus road trip - I'll take the road trip.

$150?

How about a buffet for $60 and a cash bar......and yes, at that price I might spend close to the $150, it's the up front sticker shock...is it CEO night or something?

Is there ANYTHING around here people won't bitch about??

Did you miss the part about "net proceeds benefitting Right to Play, and KidSport Ontario"? Sure, not ALL the $150 will go towards it, but seriously...

I went to the Kick-Off Party last year...it was great!
Got to meet most of the players, great photo ops etc.

Also, all of the proceed's (after paying out the hard costs) do indeed go to both Right to Play and KidSport Ontario. Both good causes in my opinion.

WORD.

It's also cheaper than last year's ticket price of $200 (and the year before that was $220, I believe).

I'm assuming it's open bar again too. :drinking:

It's a high end fundraiser, they CAN sell 200 tickets at $150, so why would they sell them for less (and therefore less money for the charity...)

Food, booze, entertainment, tax receipt, great cause, up close and personal with players, coaches and FT management and staff.

I went last year. My wife and I had a blast.

Nope, you don't get a tax receipt for the full amount -- just the "food portion" of your event ticket (which will be calculated later by the organizers). I believe last year, it worked out to be just over half the ticket cost.

$150.00 is a lot of money. Yes, I know it's for a charity, but I still think it's being priced beyond what most fans can typically afford. If I didn't have a child to feed and clothe it would be a different story, and I don't think others in my situation would be willing to front that sort of cash either.

Of course it's expensive, and priced beyond what most fans can afford. That's kind of the point. There's only 200 freaking tickets.
