This is a great option for all those s"Crew" fans who hopped on the bandwagon after thier team won the championship and cant be bothered to buy a piss stained jersey, cause they will fall off the wagon after a 2 game winless streak to start the season.

The idea of the T-shirt came to the USA during WWI when US soldiers noticed the light cotton undershirts European soldiers
were using while the US soldiers sweated in their wool uniforms. Since they were so much more comfortable they quickly became
popular among the Americans, and because of their design they got the name T-shirt. During WWII the T-shirt had become
standard issue underwear in both the U.S. Army and Navy.

After WWII the T-shirt started appearing without a shirt covering it. John Wayne, Marlon Brando and James Dean all wore them
on national TV. At first the public was shocked but by 1955 it had become acceptable. The T-shirt became cool when James
Dean wore it in the film Rebel Without a Cause

This all started on, you guessed it, Big Soccer and their forums. It either has to do with a chant that they did that we did first and made a claim to have invented it or the FACT that their support was nothing until we came along and we helped push their support to where it is today ipso facto we invented their support.
Again this all was on BS so if you aren't on BS and apart of their threads you're not going to get the joke which means the joke, once again, is on them.

The fact that they printed Toronto invented T-Shirts on T-shirts instead of a banner just shows the true lack of intelligence stemming from the armpit of America. So basically this shirt boils down to us inventing it, and them copying us? That's the slogan they are putting out? Impressive.

As someone above said, it's a BigSoccer thing. Although he didn't quite get the sentiment behind it right. "Toronto invented t-shirts" speaks to their belief that Toronto gets too much credit, and claims too much credit, for doing things that other groups have been doing for years.

Like anything Internet related, about 50 people will have a clue what they are on about and those wearing the t-shirts won't be able to articulate what it means when asked.

HSH: "It's like because they think they are better than us, but they so aren't"
Average Crew fan: "But, aren't there like 1,500 of them here today? That's a lot of people."
HSH: "But they are always talking shit about how great they are, but they so aren't"
Average Crew fan: "Actually, I was just talking to a couple before the game. They seemed nice. I think it's great that they drove 7-hours to support their team."
HSH: "BUT WE CHEER TOO"
Average Crew fan: "Ok, that's nice. I have to go over there now."

I can't figure it out either...? The only thing I can think of is that it's making fun of us TFC supporters who apparently think we're the only ones who can wear t-shirts. First I've heard of it, but again, that's the only thing I can think of.

If that's the case, then I think this scores a 20 out of 10 on the lameness scale. I have a 5 year-old cousin who could come up with a better diss than that.
